Overgrowth Alpha 78
Add comment!May 11th, 2010
Lately, things have been sort of hectic, but today is still alpha Monday!
While John and I have been busy with the Humble Indie Bundle, David and Aubrey have been dutifully continuing work on Overgrowth. For those of you who are new to Wolfire, we are currently developing a third-person 3D fighting game which is the spiritual successor to Lugaru. To create such an ambitious game with such a small team, we have focused on making tools that are as efficient and easy-to-use as possible. With these tools we also hope to make modding fun again for the average user!
Here is a video we made a few months ago, showing off some of the features we have so far:
We fund the development of Overgrowth by accepting preorders. Every week, we post an alpha build so that preorderers can see how the game is coming along and try out all the new features. The alpha builds are incomplete and not representative of the final game, but they give preorderers an inside look at the development process, and give us valuable feedback. Please check out our FAQ if you have more questions!
Here is what's new this week:
- Roll recovery from ragdoll
- Scriptable ragdoll pose matching
- Ragdoll pose editor
- Better lighting for non-uniform scaled objects
- Pose weights mode
- Shader optimizations
- Better integration of ragdolls and animation
Ragdoll rabbit matches a running pose.
Thanks as always for all the support! See you guys in IRC and the forums.
